Nintendo have become quite elusive in recent years, so the chances are the internet may just implode around March time with tonnes of new Pokemon game material from the gaming giants. Sword and Shield have been a global success, and as long as Hop isn’t in the next game, I’ll be buying it the second it comes out!Ĭould we be about to receive word on ‘Pokemon Spear and Axe’, or maybe something completely different like ‘Pokemon Knife and Fork’ (can you tell I haven’t eaten breakfast?) This is the bit that I’m most excited about the notion of a brand new Pokemon game adventure to play through. It would seem like a backwards step for Nintendo, though hardcore fans would undoubtedly hand over their hard-earned cash all the same. I can’t see the new games having an old, retro feel to them after the success of the new adventures that we’ve been spoilt with. It would be the most obvious progression, especially as players of Pokemon Sword and Shield are still waiting on extra DLC content that should be dropping any time now. Information leaked last Summer also stated that we would all be seeing remakes of the Diamond and Pearl versions and the HeartGold and SoulSilver editions on the Nintendo Switch in 2021.Ĭould this be part of the upcoming Super Collection release or a new Pokemon game release entirely?Ģ021 looks set to be a hectic year for folks determined to ‘catch ’em all’ – there might not be enough hours in the day! They may even have some compatibility with Sword and Shield, allowing you to bring your favourite pocket monsters over for multiplayer battle action akin to Pokemon Stadium, one of the best N64 games of all time! Of course, we’re fairly sure that these new adventures will be remastered and dragged kicking and screaming into the world of HD gaming. That’s six Pokemon adventures for the price of one! Credit: Mega Pokemon XY The digital birds have spoken, and the Super Collection is said to include Pokemon X and Y, Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, and Pokemon Sun and Moon. The official ‘word on the street’ is that six classic versions will be bundled into this new Pokemon game. If we’re going to run with the ‘Super Collection’ train of thought, then we need to think about which games would make the cut.

Just as Lord Varys has his birds, Retro Dodo has our own faction of hidden spies out on surfing the internet, and word of a new Pokemon game has ‘pika-d’ our attention. We’ve also been picking up a lot of chatter about the new Zelda game that is set to drop in 2021 too, whether as part of a 35th Anniversary collection to celebrate our green-garbed Hero of Time turning 35 or as a new adventure in the BOTW series. So far we’ve had the pleasure of getting our hands on the new Mario 35th Anniversary collection as part of our Super Mario 3D All Stars review, a game that was announced seemingly out of the blue with a short wait until the release date.
