Nintendo have become quite elusive in recent years, so the chances are the internet may just implode around March time with tonnes of new Pokemon game material from the gaming giants. Sword and Shield have been a global success, and as long as Hop isn’t in the next game, I’ll be buying it the second it comes out!Ĭould we be about to receive word on ‘Pokemon Spear and Axe’, or maybe something completely different like ‘Pokemon Knife and Fork’ (can you tell I haven’t eaten breakfast?) This is the bit that I’m most excited about the notion of a brand new Pokemon game adventure to play through. It would seem like a backwards step for Nintendo, though hardcore fans would undoubtedly hand over their hard-earned cash all the same. I can’t see the new games having an old, retro feel to them after the success of the new adventures that we’ve been spoilt with. It would be the most obvious progression, especially as players of Pokemon Sword and Shield are still waiting on extra DLC content that should be dropping any time now. We’ve also been picking up a lot of chatter about the new Zelda game that is set to drop in 2021 too, whether as part of a 35th Anniversary collection to celebrate our green-garbed Hero of Time turning 35 or as a new adventure in the BOTW series. So far we’ve had the pleasure of getting our hands on the new Mario 35th Anniversary collection as part of our Super Mario 3D All Stars review, a game that was announced seemingly out of the blue with a short wait until the release date. With news about classic Nintendo remakes and releases hotting up as we move towards the end of 2020, the whispers of a new Pokemon game dropping in 2021 have finally made their way to our ears.
